BIDHAAR Press Night was live on August 13 and word on the street is, this tribe is a vibe! Let’s talk about some of the highlights from the biggest Afrourban night of the year which took place on Rye Lane at the heart of Peckham!
We love our Afrobeats!
When Afrobeats music meets an Afrourban crowd, the vibe is indescribable. With DJ Spective on the wheels of steel to make this happen? The mood was wild at BIDHAAR Press Night. Hits coming back to back and we didn’t want to go home!
Then, the performing acts. Remember how Ayoba promised us honest music from a genre which he described as ‘Fusion?’ He wasn’t playing, people. Ayoba on the guitar delivering a medley of sounds was an unforgettable moment.
Now, let’s talk about how NDN puts the S in soul. She pulled up in a smashing pink two-piece suit by Nigerian designer Emmy Kasbit to take us on a trip to the ’90s. With NDN commandeering the microphone, all you need to do is sway and say, Yes Ma’am!
Bisi Akins, Our Host
First things first, BisI Akins is a head-turner. Second, that outfit! The asymmetric blazer dress by House of RG, elegant shoes, braids, and those cool glasses. A vibe so alive that before she took to the stage, everyone was paying attention.
Bisi Akins’ delivery was as edgy as her outfit. And, there is that famous smile. On this night of Afrourban excellence, who else but this Queen to lead the show?
Thank you, Bisi Akins!
The Vibe
As I said, this tribe is a vibe and it shows! BIDHAAR Press Night was an opportunity to showcase our brand to the community and it was a resounding success. One thing about the Afrourban vibe? It is all-encompassing. One night felt like a Fashion show, a club night, a food festival, and a house party, all at once on the streets of Peckham aka “Little Africa,” “Little Nigeria,” and “Little Lagos!”
Special recognition to the food sponsors because Africa came to dine in the heart of Peckham that night! Thanks to I Go Chop, Issa Vibe, Quirky Oven, Olu Olu, and Suuyar, it was a festival of tastes from home.
Shoutout to our Drinks sponsors – Coffee & Cocktails who supplied Nigerian signature cocktails, Koxmet cocktails, and Supermalt, and we were good to go!
Now, you have to give it to the tribe and their effortless swag. They came through strutting and slaying, vibe turned on to the max!
There are tribes, and then there is the BIDHAAR Tribe. If you haven’t joined in, what are you waiting for?
Giving back to the community
Community for us transcends our African roots to the UK. On this night, we collaborated with some brands to raise funds through a raffle draw.
A big thank you to our brand donors: Cang, Emmy Kasbit, Jason Boateng, Serge Wesley Bloquert, Toks Haynes, and C’est Fade. And, Thanks to you too, our tribe, for buying tickets at the Raffle draw.
All proceeds raised have been sent to Albrighton Community Fridge, to support the underprivileged communities in London badly affected by COVID-19.
BIDHAAR is on to a lot more amazing events like this in the future and we want you to belong. Here, we vibe, slay, and win together.
