Fan Favorite: 2Baba’s ‘Opo’ featuring Wizkid [Music Video]

Based on popular demand, ‘Opo‘ is one of the most loved and played tracks off 2Baba’s 7th studio album, ‘Warriors’ earlier released in February.  Now, we have a video!

Shot by award-winning Nigerian music video director, Clarence Peters, ‘Opo’ music video was released early this month, a follow up to ‘We Must Groove’ featuring Burna Boy. The video captures the two music legends, 2Baba, and Wizkid with a group of colourfully dressed dancers in an all-white space.

‘Opo’ means ’plenty’ in Yoruba origin and this standout single is an ode to the plenteous, mouth-opening, and logic-defying endowments of African women.

Innocent Ujah Idibia also known as 2-Face or 2Baba is one of Nigeria’s greatest pop acts of all time. His role in the rise of contemporary Nigerian pop music – call it the sound of 21st century Africa – to global prominence cannot be overemphasised.

From African Queen (2004) to We Must Groove (2020), his distinctive blend of reggae, R&B, and traditional African music creates a universal vibe while without losing its Africanness.

‘Opo’ (Produced by Blaq Jerzee) was featured on ‘Warriors,’ the 13-track album that boasts a string of notable tracks and features Burna Boy, Tiwa Savage, Olamide, Wizkid, Peruzzi, HI Idibia, Syemca, and AJ.

Speaking of Wizkid, he dropped his latest single “Smile” featuring H.E.R. last month, the first single from his much-anticipated album, Made In Lagos. He also featured in Beyoncé’s latest visual album, Black Is King, for the video of “Brown Skin Girl.”
