Skincare is an essential factor in this collective quest for flawless skin. However, for the best results, consistency is key (As with all things!) Let’s take a look into what should be your typical daily routine for that glowing skin!

Whether you are stuck at home this period or still have an active outdoor life, skincare should be adopted as a lifestyle! Just like the food you eat or your workout sessions, the only way to get the best results is with a daily routine.

Here is our guide on creating the best daily skincare routine, curated with love:

Morning rituals are often the most sacred because they usually determine the rest of your day. Wake up, stretch, meditate (or pray), and use these skincare products in their exact order:

Step 1:  Cleanse

No, we don’t mean makeup wipes. Do it properly, with a mild face cleanser, by rubbing all over your face and neck in circular motions, and all that drama. If you have acne-prone skin, consider using a cleansing oil before you accompany with a face wash. This process is known as ‘double-cleansing.’

Cleansing opens up your pores and makes any other product you apply afterwards worth it. Look out for products with ingredients like tea tree oil, peppermint oil, and salicylic acid.

Step 2: Tone

Toners are skincare’s gift to your skin to help achieve the exact PH balance you need. They exist in two categories: AHA (alpha hydroxy acid, e.g lactic or glycolic acid) and BHA (Beta hydroxy acid, e.g salicylic acid). For dry skin, AHAs are most hydrating, while BHAs are your best option for oily skin.

Apply toners on clean skin and wait a few minutes before using other products. The wonders it does to your skin are legendary.

Step 3: Serum

You know what they say, you can never have too much moisture on your skin. Serums have an immediately powerful effect on your skin and are crucial to an everyday routine. Vitamin C based serums give you an instant glow, but if you have sensitive skin, use on alternate mornings.

Otherwise, aloe-vera is an immensely calming and moisturizing serum ingredient for hydrating your skin and preventing inflammation.

Step 4: Eye Creams

As you age, you will understand how important (And beneficial) this step is. Use eye creams to reduce puffiness, wrinkles, and dark circles around the eyes.

Ironically, caffeine (which often keeps you awake and gives you puffy eyes) is an essential ingredient for the best eye creams. However, your eye area is prone to inflammation so use the mildest options possible.

Step 5: Moisturizer

When we think skincare, ‘moisturize’ is a word that often comes to mind. Moisturizers soak in every other product you have used and keep your skin in great health. Using products with hyaluronic acid properties are a definite blessing!

Step 6: Sunscreen

Your number one soldier in the never-ending battle against sun-damaged skin, get a sunscreen!

Go for products with SPF 30 and above, because anything below will not provide the protection you require. Use sunscreen at all times of the day, in ample quantities, and whether you are outdoors or indoors.

Nighttime Care

Nighttime should follow the exact routine as your mornings but if you wore makeup during the day, first use a makeup remover (No, we still don’t mean wipes!) Micellar water is a super-effective and gentle solution for cleansing your face free of dirt and excess oil while toning your skin at the same time.

At the end of your nighttime routine, follow with a lip mask to keep your lips hydrated and moisturised (Lip lives matter too!)

P.S: We are not saying wipes are bad. They should be a quick fix that should still accompany an actual cleanser and never a substitute for your cleansing routine.

Your best skincare routine in its exact order!

While you may include products in your routine like face masks, spot treatment creams and face oils, this is the basic go-to for all skin types! We recommend that you see a Dermatologist for more prescriptions for your skincare routine especially if you have problematic skin.

Now, let’s be honest: what is the status of your relationship with your skin? Remember: a committed relationship is rule number one for every glow-getter!
