They say Time flies when you’re having fun and one year later, the BIDHAAR journey has been a swell ride!

One day, Mariam Tijani decided to put her passion for creativity and culture to use by creating a brand that encompasses and enriches these expressions. The result is the rapidly unfolding journey we call BIDHAAR.
London’s first experiential concept store and showroom, Africa’s showcase in the heart of a thriving creative community in Peckham, and a global movement empowering creative and cultural brands from Africa and the diaspora. BIDHAAR started out as a Mariam Tijani dream, but today it is driven by goals larger than one person. It is a force working to enrich creative and cultural spaces supporting the Black and African STory.
As we get ready to walk into another new week, we reminisce on BIDHAAR brand values and what it represents. Could be helpful as a lesson or two as well!
Community
Wherever a community of like-minded people convene, magic happens. BIDHAAR pulls a community of new, emerging, and existing creatives in a platform. The aim is to reunite Africa with its diaspora by sharing premium products and experiences that embody Africa. This community has a name, BIDHAAR Tribe. You are most likely to find them vibing at our events or shopping these premium products at our store!
Culture
One word for the BIDHAAR culture is AFROURAN. This defines a mix of afrocentricism and contemporary style. A culture that reflects in every brand offerings, you can’t say BIDHAAR without the word, Afrourban.
Authentic Storytelling
Time and time again, the brand continues to take back the African narrative by sharing authentic stories about its people, Before now, we have seen a gross misrepresentation of what it means to be Black and African, but slowly, this mindset is shifting.
