Today marks the 30th birthday of Nigerian superstar, Ayo Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid.
From his debut studio album, Superstar in 2009, where he released “Holla at Your Boy” to his newest singles, ‘Smile’ and ‘Cool Me Down,’ Wizkid has attained massive recognition across the global musical sphere.
Here is our selection of Wizkid’s 30 best songs for his 30th birthday.
1. Oluwa Lo Ni
Just starting out, Wizkid describes his struggles and references God as his helper. Oluwa Lo Ni was released in 2011.
2. Baddest Boy
A show-killing banger off The Empire Mates State of Mind, this collaboration album from Wizzy, Skales, and EME boss Banky W. Baddest Boy was released in 2012.
3. Tease Me
Call it a teaser if you will, you could tell that Wizkid was having fun freestyling. A classic sing-along jam, Tease Me was released in 2010.
4. Naughty Ride

5. Jaiye Jaiye
Featuring Nigerian musician Femi Kuti, Wizkid infuses some staccato saxophone lines and, of course, Sarz on the Beat with his signature sound.
6. CARO
It’s 2020 and we are still looking for Caro. The Afropop song was in collaboration with Nigerian recording artist L.A.X. Caro, released in 2013, was part of Wizkid’s album Ayo (2014).
7. Show You The Money
Basically, Starboy gave this as a birthday jam to his loyal fans. Show You The Money was released today in 2014.
8. Joy
Joyyyyy. Nothing but joy. A series of appreciation for his fans and all those that have been supportive. Joy was a heartfelt number released in 2014.
9. Don’t Dull
A smash record from his Superstart Album, Don’t Dull is a confidence booster. Chances are, you can’t listen to this jam without nodding in agreement.
10. Sweet Love
Sweet Love is an ode to Wizkid’s fans, a cult following as most people would call it. It chronicles an artist-fan relationship that is as authentic as it is powerful.
11. African Bad Gyal
A classic collaboration between two great talents, this track from Wizkid and Chris Brown feels newer with every listen.
12. Final (Baba Nla)
This jam inspired one of Wizzy’s many nicknames, Baba Nla. A distinct reverence in this title carries through the entire track, making it one of Wizkid’s most memorable works.
