Nigerian singer and Mavin Records signee, Di’Ja releases a new EP – ‘Aphropop Vol. 1’ featuring Cameroon-born Nigerian artist, Sunkey
A follow up to her 2019 EP’ DIJA, ‘Aphropop Vol. 1’ is a 6-track EP with three new singles and three previously released singles; ‘Ayo,’ ‘Inyamuri’ and ‘Yaraye Iye. ‘
‘After the protests, I realized we have allowed hate to grow so much we can’t get through to one another. I’m always curious where hate stems from because I love so deeply.’

Di’ja (Full name: Hadiza Blell) began her music career in 2008. Her debut single, “Rock Steady” was nominated for Best Urban/R&B Single, 2009 Canadian Radio Music Awards, while she won the Best New Artist award at the 2008 Beat Music Awards.
Since then, she has released several other singles and is known to infuse her dialects – Hausa (Nigeria) and Krio (Sierra Leone) – into her music. Di’Ja signed under Don Jazzy’s Mavin Records in 2014, and “Yaro,” was her first official single under the label.

On my journey to this EP, I realized we’ve failed at teaching history in our schools. Without history, we can never be empathetic to one another’s plight. It’s deeper than you think! May we be guided accordingly to pass the messages we choose to pass. #onelove “
