How Do You Know You Are Doing What You Love?

Can you tell if you’re doing what you love or taking anything that goes?

Careers have their ups and downs, and things can get to a point where we feel like quitting. What keeps us going in that moment is whether we are passionate about what we do or not.

So how do you know if you’re passionate?

1. You would do it for free.

If nobody paid you, would you still enjoy it or leave without giving it a second thought? If money is not an issue, would you still want to do what you’re doing? Think about it.

2. You work past closing time even when you don’t have to.

When you love what you do, you find yourself working until late in the evening without feeling overworked. You instead feel accomplished that you’re getting so much done.

3. You get excited when talking about it

Have you ever watched someone talk about their dreams? You can feel their energy and see their face light up. If your mood turns sour when talking about what you do, there is a possibility you don’t love it.

4. You don’t think about quitting

When you love what you do, you tend not to plan out your retirement, probably because you can’t imagine your life without it. Therefore, quitting isn’t even a consideration when you have the fulfillment of doing work you enjoy.

Doing something we love is ecstatic, but then, not everyone gets to experience this.
