AfroSwing Hotlist: 10 Songs You Should Listen To Right Now

Afroswing, also known as Afrobashment, Afro-trap, Afrowave, or UK Afrobeats, is a genre of music that emerged in the UK during the mid-2010s, derivative of dancehall and Afrobeats, with influences from trap, hip hop, R&B, and grime.

Listen to some Afroswing sounds making it into the UK charts.

1. Longtime – Wizkid ft. Skepta

Nigerian Afrobeats superstar, Wizkid links up with British grime rapper and record producer Skepta this single titled ‘Longtime.’ This synergy is a track off Wizkid’s ‘Made In Lagos’ album.

2. Real Life – Burna Boy ft. Stormzy

African Giant Burna Boy features British rapper, Stormzy on this emotional track off his recently released album ‘Twice As Tall.’

3. Naija Man – Loski ft. Davido

UK artist, Loski features African Baddest, Davido on this single titled ‘Naija Man.’

4. Can’t Let You Go – Stefflon Don

British rapper and singer Stefflon Don, on this lust-struck song, talking of the good moments shared with the one she can’t get out of her mind.

5. Kate Winslet – NSG ft. Unknown T

The rap collective from East London, NSG, continues to build their catalogue of bangers. This new single features East London rapper, Unknown T and produced by 4 Play.

6. Need More – Reekado Banks, Kida Kudz, EO

Nigerian talented singer Reekado Banks teams up with UK based Afropop singer Kida Kudz and English rapper EO on this grime-influenced single, “Need More.” Banks is steadily preparing us for his upcoming EP “Off the Record.”

7. There For You – Ms Banks & Simi

Nigerian female singer/songwriter Simi with a classic single titled featuring British-Nigerian rapper, Ms Banks. ‘There For You’ is a track of her recently released project ‘Restless II EP.’

8. Duppy – Kojo Funds

Ghanaian-British Afro-pop singer Kojo Funds back on the music scene with this new track produced by GA.

9. Forever – Eugy

Ghanaian-UK based artiste, Eugy on this new potential hit track titled “Forever. ” This track is off his recently released EP “4Play ” and produced by Janeson Recordings Hamadoo.

10. Pamela – Wauve, ZieZie & Stonebwoy
